  Thallus epiphyllous, subcuticular, rounded to irregular, 2–15 (–20) mm wide, the margin even or with short rounded or irregular lobes or with elongate and dissected lacinules, c. 25–50 µm thick, pale greyish green, ±smooth to rugose, usually dull, frequently with numerous white or pale yellowish hairs; photobiont Cephaleuros; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia convex, moderately prominent, largely overgrown by the thallus or the apex exposed, pale greyish green, 0.20–0.30 (–0.35) mm diam. Perithecial apex rounded, applanate, with a diffuse blackish centre; ostiole inconspicuous. Involucrellum medium brown to brownish black, scarcely carbonaceous, extending to exciple base level, 10–20 µm thick. Exciple hyaline to brown, 7–12 µm thick. Centrum 0.13–0.25 mm diam. Paraphyses simple. Asci narrowly obclavate to fusiform, 55–80 × 10–15 µm. Ascospores irregularly biseriate in the ascus, 3-septate, oblong to oblong-fusiform, not constricted at the septa, 14–25 × 4.0–6.5 µm. Conidiomata: 1) semi-immersed, hemispherical, brownish black, 0.10–0.15 mm diam., containing 3–7 (–9)-septate filiform macroconidia 25–60 × 2.0–2.5 µm; 2) convex, brownish black and 0.05–0.10 mm diam., containing simple fusiform microconidia 3–5 × 1.5–2.0 µm.
     
  Common and widely distributed on the leaves of trees and shrubs in northern N.T., eastern Qld and eastern N.S.W.; mainly pantropical, but also southern-temperate.
